Alice Millikin
M.S. graduate student
Department of Biology

Alice Millikin is a Biology Master's student who is researching the restoration at Spirit Mound. She will evaluate the progress of the restoration at Spirit Mound by comparing plant biomass and diversity to Rusty Vote’s data from 2003-2004. She will also examine the effects of the different burn frequencies at the site on plant species diversity. Her research interests are broadly related to conservation and restoration ecology. She enjoys studying various habitats, invasive species, and the ecology of plants, mammals and birds.

Abby Davis
M.S. graduate student
Department of Biology

Abby Davis is a Biology Master’s student. After being enlightened about the decreasing habitat of prairies in Iowa, when studying her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science at Dordt College, she has been instilled with a passion to research and educate the public about prairies and plants.
Her research interests are fundamentally ecology; ranging from prairie plant ecology to restoration ecology. She believes that we need to value the solitude, quietness, seclusion, quiescence, and peacefulness of nature. Whether it is hiking, biking, camping or bird watching, there is always something to learn in the great outdoors and enjoy the aesthetic beauty of creation.
